Hosea 3:1 NIV
The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes. ”

We were talking about our relationships on Wednesday night at the Bible Study and thinking about our motivations behind them. Do we choose friends and work at them for our benefit and what we might get out of them, or for the other person? If we’re honest, often it’s the former. With God I suspect it’s the latter.

Lord, in my relationships today, help me to focus on the other not myself, listening not speaking, giving rather than taking.
