Luke 22:14-19 NIV
[14] When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. [15] And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer…………………19] And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

As we come towards Easter think of this – Jesus “eagerly desired” fellowship with his disciples. He wanted them to have something that would remind them of the most important relationship there can ever be – their relationship with God and his love for them! So he takes bread – ordinary every day stuff and gives thanks. Every time you eat bread today, try and be reminded of Jesus – giving his body to be broken……to die on a Roman gibbet…….and why did he do that?
For love of you……he eagerly desires…….he gives thanks…….he takes our place and carries our sin……..he gives us life and love, a future and a hope……give thanks!

From heaven you came, helpless babe,
Entered our world, your glory veiled;
Not to be served but to serve,
And give your life that we might live.
This is our God, the Servant King,
He calls us now to follow him,
To bring our lives as a daily offering
Of worship to the Servant King.
