Luke 13:34 NIV
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.
As we remember this week, Jesus moving towards Jerusalem and his suffering and death, imagine how painful the feelings of rejection must have been. “He came to his own but his own did not receive him”….he longed to gather and give them hope but they would not.
We live in a world which continues to reject him but….and what a wonderful “but” this is…..to as many as received him he gave the right to become children of God!
Lord Jesus, we want to honour and worship you and give you the first place in our lives today.
