if you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Following our reflections arising from topic issues this week, today’s news is all about the latest twists and turns in the Brexit debate with the High Courts decreeing that Parliament has to have their say before Article 50 is invoked. There have, no doubt, been a variety of motivations behind campaigning for this court case, but the judges have made their announcement not on a political basis – do they approve of Brexit or not – but on a constitutional basis – our democracy is set up in such a way that Parliament is greater than the Government and should have the final word. As Christians, we belong to a different Kingdom, God’s Kingdom. He has the last word, his is the authority and power. As his people, we are to live in line with his will, his character in all things.
May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart bless your name, bless your name, Jesus.
