Pray for the Toddler Group this morning, that we may develop good relationships with our families. Pray also for the people you are engaging with today, that God may help you deepen those relationships too.
Romans 12:15 (NIVUK)
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Being God’s Son you might expect Jesus to be dispassionate, above human emotions, because God can see the bigger picture, but Jesus is far from this. He is neither cold nor stoic, but engages with others’ emotions, expressing anger, joy and anguish alongside them. If you don’t believe me, flick through a Gospel looking for it. You see, such emotional engagement is the heart of relationships or community, and God is community, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is such compassion that binds together and brings unity.
Pray for our family, asking the Spirit to reveal someone to you, and ask him to lead you in prayer for them. Look for an opportunity to engage with their life this week, perhaps there is someway you can celebrate with them or share their struggles, and in so doing encourage them on the way.
