Please pray for Toddler Group today, that we might continue to build good relationships with the new children and their carers. Thanks!

Mark 12:28-33 (NIV)
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, ‘Of all the commandments, which is the most important?’
29 ‘The most important one,’ answered Jesus, ‘is this: “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” 31 The second is this: “Love your neighbour as yourself.” There is no commandment greater than these.’
32 ‘Well said, teacher,’ the man replied. ‘You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbour as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.’

No mention of church.
No mention of services.
Does this mean they’re not important?
Does it matter if we don’t get involved?

Yes.
Church matters.

Not for its own sake, but as a play where together we express our love to God (commandment one)…
…and are equipped and refreshed to go out and to love our neighbours (commandment two).

It’s when we see attending church as the point that we miss the point.
It’s when we make it about me, and not about God or our communities.
Of course, not everyone can make Sundays, we understand that, but joining the family in worship when we can makes a real difference.

Lord help me to find ways that will build up your people to do the work you call us to do.
