Please pray for our Church Leader’s meeting tonight

Mark 12:28-30 (NIV)
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, ‘Of all the commandments, which is the most important?’
29 ‘The most important one,’ answered Jesus, ‘is this: “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

So often we race past this first part of the answer to Jesus’ second part (see tomorrow!) but its important to pause and hear what he says. The most important thing in our lives is to worship God, to show him our love for him with every part of us. This includes, our thoughts, our actions, our emotions, our speaking, our values, our shopping, our friendships, our work, our families, our dealings with others. In everything we do, in everything we are, in every time and place, we are to show God our love for him. As the Westminster Shorter Catechism wonderfully puts it, the chief end of man is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.

Lord, may my all be for you today!
