Mark 2:5-7 NIV
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” [6] Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, [7] “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Often the Gospel writers put the truth in the mouths of Jesus’ opponents and here is a great example. If Jesus can forgive and only Good can forgive, then who is Jesus? Jesus may simply be forgiving the men for the mess they’ve made and their interruption, but Mark uses it to make a point about who Jesus really is.
Thank you Jesus for your forgiveness, making us new from the inside out. Help us share your grace with those we meet today.
