Romans 1:16-17 NIV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
What a wonderful insight into the heart of God! Much of the opening chapters of Romans is dark, we have all failed to live up to God’s standards in the Law, in other words none of us are good enough, loving enough or faithful enough in following God that we will have warranted entry into God’s Kingdom. But this is just where God’s righteousness is revealed. We may not be faithful enough towards him, but he is to us! He sends his Son to be faithful on our behalf and through his life and faith in him, we receive what we have not learnt, God’s salvation, his peace, a place in his family, his healing. What love.
Thank you for your Gospel, your good news of our salvation through your faith in us!
