Acts 2:38-39 NIV
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. [39] The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

The crowd asked how they should respond when the Spirit was poured out on the Day of Pentecost. Peter told them to represent- to turn from their old ways and allegiances – and give their loyalty to Jesus instead. Baptism is an outward symbol of this act, the water symbolising a washing away of the old and sinful, as we enter God’s family. God’s response? The gift of his Spirit, just as we remembered it hoovering over Jesus yesterday!

Jesus, I make you my King today!
