In the lead up to Sunday’s celebrations the theme for our notes is baptism.
Luke 3:21-22 NIV
When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
Jesus had no need to be baptised and yet chose to be in order to show that he stands with us in all our human experiences, to support us and represent us. The wonder is that now when we’re baptised, because of Jesus’ work, his Father says the same of us as he did of him!
Praise God for his Father’s love and that in Christ he stands with us in the highs and lows of life!
