Luke 9:24-27
24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. 27 ‘Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.’

This is why how we answer the question ‘who do you say I am?’ is so important. These are indeed challenging words and the stakes are high. If we accept and follow him, he will reward us with the whole of the world, but if we decide to walk away from him, he will let us. He is not a king that will impose his will, but a king who lays down his life and invites. The King and his Kingdom is coming, to be a part of it follow the leader.

For this is what I’m glad to do
It’s time to live a life of love that pleases You
And I will give my all to You
Surrender everything I have and follow You
