Luke 5:15-16 NIV
Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. [16] But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Luke 6:12 NIV
One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.

This week we have been thinking about the responses of others to Jesus’ teaching and miracles, but what about Jesus, how did he respond to what was going on? Rather than making the most of the attention on him, his response was to withdraw and pray. Jesus knew that for him to do his Father’s will he had to continually make time to be with him, to let their relationship form and lead his thinking and activity. This week as we see God at work in, through and around us, let this make us turn to our Father repeatedly in praise and listening.
