5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Trust in God, with every aspect of our lives, with our heads and hearts, follow his ways rather than ours and…?
The proverb suggests that he will make everything straightforward and easy for us, but that is to forget that this is a proverb and so is a generalisation rather than an absolute truth. What it doesn’t mean is that as Christians everything is easy and wonderful if we trust in him with the implication that if life isn’t like that then we can’t be trusting him enough.
Perhaps at heart of this proverb is the message that God is with us in all situations, walks with us and is personal at work in our lives for our good.
Prayerfully ask if there is something today that God is calling you to trust him in?
