John 8:12 NIV
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Darkness can mean all sorts of things. It can be a lack of light. It can be a lack of understanding or being informed about something – being kept in the dark. Dark days can be days of trouble and struggle, and darkness can be a shorthand for evil. Regardless of the meaning Jesus declares that he is the opposite and brings us illumination, relief, hope and goodness, alleviating our darkness and getting us through hard times.
Take a moment to thank Jesus for his light and pray that this weekend we can share some of it at SHINE!
