This week we take some time to reflect on some of God’s practical wisdom as found in James’ letter.

Reading: James 1:19-20
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Thought: Why do people do the things they do? Sometimes we can be so quick to jump to conclusions or to condemn that we never stop to find out what’s really going on. So often there’s more to a situation that at first meets the eye.

Prayer: Immanuel, God who understands our lives, teach us to be quick to listen and value relationship over personal satisfaction.
