Reading: John 2:6-7
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from eighty to a hundred and twenty litres.
7 Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water’; so they filled them to the brim.

Thought: Ceremonial jars used for ritual washing, a symbolic act to show the desire to be clean before God. Jesus transforms this ritual and is about to make it something even greater, something real.

Prayer: Lord we don’t want lives of powerless symbols but powerful reality. Fill us with your Spirit today.
