This week we turn to Colossians to look at the wonderful description of Jesus laid out in Chapter One.

Reading: Col. 1:15
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Thought: ‘Doesn’t she look just like her other?’ Often when a baby is born comparisons are made to the parents. Who does he or she look like? It’s the same with Jesus. Of course he doesn’t look like his Father – his Father is invisible, but he is the exact image in terms of his character, his personality and his will. To come to grips with God, you have to come to grips with Jesus.

Prayer: Thank you Father for giving us your Son so we could see you, the invisible God. Help us through your Spirit to see you through him in the pages of Scripture today.
