This week we’re going to spend  a few moments each day reflecting on Paul’s exhortations in the last chapter of his letter to the Philippians (Phil. 4:4-9).

Reading: Phil. 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Thought: From the bottom of a valley all can seem enclosed and gloomy, but from encircling mountain tops the horizons are increased and the view spectacular. Sometimes life can seem like the valleys with trouble and stress crowding in, but faith can lift us to the mountains where we are reminded of the bigger picture of the glory of our reigning King and his saving love.

Prayer: Before bringing your concerns to God this morning, spend a moment worshipping him and giving thanks for all that he is and all he has done, is doing and will do. Such praise changes our perspective, reminding us of the bigger picture and giving us faith that he can deal with all that we face.
